With over 15 years of teaching experience, I offer piano lessons tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you're preparing for exams, or simply playing for the joy of it, we can work together to help your needs. I hold both a Degree and a Master’s in music, and I teach students of all ages, from young beginners to adults.
Having started piano later than most, I especially enjoy working with adult learners who may feel it’s “too late” to start. Let me be clear: It’s not! I’ve seen firsthand how rewarding and transformative learning music at any age can be.

Guidelines and Conditions

When attending a lesson, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Try to arrive promptly, to make the most of your lessons.
Always arrive with clean hands and fingernails.
If a student arrives later than the allotted time, no extension will be given, as this then impacts other lessons and students throughout the day.
The time and day allocated for a lesson at the start of the term, is the student’s time and day throughout the year. Change may be possible, but please contact Seán as soon as possible about it.

Life sometimes gets in the way, and there are times when lessons may be moved, or missed.
24 hour notice is required in order to have a lesson moved to an alternative day. Less than 24 hours notice will mean the lesson will be cancelled and no refund given.
Extenuating circumstances will be catered for, on a case by case basis (extreme weather, for example). In any event, try to give the teacher as much time as possible.
In the event of the teacher cancelling a lesson, a make-up lesson will always be provided with consultation to organise an appropriate time and day.

Some important things to note, if this is your first time learning an instrument.
It is a rewarding and life-changing journey to go on.
Practice is an absolute necessity. The lessons are guidelines, and Seán will tell you what to practice, and how to do it. However, the effort must be put into the piano during the week.
Daily practice is recommended. 10 minutes every day is always better than 70 mins one day a week. Make it a habit.
Your level at the piano will determine how much you should practice every day. Seán willl advise you during the lessons. But in general, the longer you’ve been playing, the longer you need to practice every day to maintain and progress.

Payment details are as follows:
Seán works strictly on a pay before you play basis.
Lessons are split up throughout the year into blocks of 6-7 weeks, with payment requested in advance of each block.
Payment is accepted through Revolut, or with cash.
There is a policy of no refunds, however vouchers may be provided in exceptionally extenuating circumstances.
